As of today 5 of 7 Nugget and 5 of 6 cascade have buds. They're looking mucho fatter and stronger than last year, and one of the cascade has already sprouted leaves.

NOAA says it's going to be a little cooler here the next 6 days: 40s at night and mid 60s during the days. Methinks it won't be a problem.

Wish I'd ordered those centenniel and columbus rhizomes already. Maybe it's not too late.

I'll be snipping any buds until may 15th in NH. We even got a weird frost in late may last year. I have a lot of 3 yr and some 2 yr plants... This year is going to be a crazy harvest.

I too am getting buds on second year of growth. I can't remember where I read it but I believe I saw that you should clip back the first growth and wait for the second growth. can anyone comment on this?

I'm getting my buds too. I tend to call them shoots. Half dozen of one, six of another.
I forgot to trim the old bines below the ground level, so I hope it doesn't fuck 'em up.
