That would rule out Phoenix, and Denver (and probably Hawaii)... :(

just remember that yakima (where most of the hops in the US are grown) is a desert. From may till late october most days are over 85F. normally from july to mid september most days are over 95F+

Just water you hops well and give them plenty of sunlight.
Cheers!

I'm tempted to give it a go but we lack sunlight here and it's not very warm.

Going onto year two.... don't think I'll plant any more varieties... but who knows. Lost a couple of plants with a late frost last year, so I'm looking to harvest some rhizomes off of the plants that made it.

I've thought about it since I started brewing. I think I'll give it a go this year.

Thanks BadRock. I expected FreshHops to have them this year but I didn't see them on the web site. I think I'll send Dave Wills an eMail and see if he has a few available for a local sale.

I've met Dave a couple of times. Super nice guy. Last month I walked into the dentist office and there was Dave waiting for his appointment. I talked to him a while about his brewery - Oregon Trail Ales, and about hops. I asked him about The Brewing Network and he was aware of the BN but not a listener. Shat should try to get an interview with him.
Damn... I gotta get to work.
