Tannins are usually described as astringent, rather than out and out bitter, which was why I was wondering about your hops.

Okay, boys...just to get this thread back on track - doughing in for a classic american pilsner. 1st attempt in a very long time. Should be good around middle of summer.

Doing a Rye IPA. Mowing the lawn during the boil. Does that make this an 8% lawnmower beer? 8)
