Cleaning hop sediment on outside of kettle

I was nice enough to let my friend use my sculpture for a brew day. He was nice enough to not clean it. He must have had a crazy boil over because there is not hop sediment all over the OUTSIDE of my boil kettle. What's the best way to clean it?

PBW or OxyClean will take if off if you let it soak for 20-30 minutes. Since its on the outside, you'll need to fill up a sink or a larger vessel. The hotter the water, the better.

If it's stainless, I'd just use a washcloth & Bar Keepers Friend.

The PBW will require a pretty decent soak, both hot & long... you should know all about that TTB

BKF takes a tiny bit of elbow grease, but you'll have it sparkling long before a PBW soak is done. Just spray it down with hot tap water, knock off every thing you can & use the BKF like any scouring powder. If you don't have a Blichmann-style finish, you could even use a standard kitchen scrubby (the rough green pads, no metal) to get the thick parts off a little faster... yes, it's always good to get the thick parts off a little faster. Take said brewers teabag and scrub the shit out of anything that doesn't sparkle. Then tell them they have to host all off weeks of the The Session if they disrespect your brewhouse again.

Buy a Blichmann. For some odd reason, before I got one, my converted kegs never got cleaned. Ever. Now everything gets a full BKF polish the day after every brew day. Damn that thing is shiny.
