Your not still using that garden hose are you? Those things come with a warning not to drink from them because they contain lead to keep them pliable.

Get a good white hose from an RV shop....

beerbear, I seem to recall hearing on the Sunday show once that yeast need the minerals that are present in tap water. For this reason I only use RO water to top off with, I brew with tap water. Not sure how important this is. But if you're using a filter, it may be removing a lot of what yeast need. Perhaps you could compensate with servomyces or something similar?

A standard carbon filter pulls almost none of the trace minerals out of the water. Pretty much just gets the chlorine out. Take a look at this thread for my water report both pre and post a carbon filter.

Without question, the greatest invention in the history of mankind is beer. Oh, I grant you that the wheel was also a fine invention, but the wheel does not go nearly as well with pizza.

yes I'm using a RV hose now. The filter that I'm using only gets the chlorine and chunky sediment out. Here in Memphis there isn't a whole lot of sediment to deal with, but maybe a small amount of chlorine. So far there is a huge improvement in my brew. Thanks everyone.
