for my hoppy american styles i use 1272 at 17 c and really like the results. slightly fruitier than 1056 but in a way that complements the hops and it drops out and clears so much better to and gets me good attenuation as well, usually in the upper 70% low 80% range depending on mash temp and amount of crystal malts in the grist.
