Maximizing Yeast Propagation

Quick question for you yeast nerds out there-

Which will give me more yeast to pitch - a 2 liter starter on stirplate or a 3 liter starter with very intermittent shaking? Both would be at the same temps (70 deg).

According to the mrmalty calculator, they would essentially be the same. A 3L starter with intermittent shaking will yield about 309 billion cells and a 2L starter on a stir plate will yield about 313 billion cells.

Thanks man! I decided to use a stir plate as it just seemed a bit easier and used less DME and time. I had a feeling that they would be quite close. Glad to know I made the right choice!
