Mr Malty Calculator

I have not heard definitively one way or the other. Does re-pitching of slurry assume that the volume of yeast slurry is after rinsing the yeast (removed the trub), or does is assume you are just pouring all the crap in the bottom of the fermenter into a measuring cup.

That's what the little slider bar at the bottom is for. Hold your cursor over it for a brief explanation, but it can be used for either.

JZ said that the defualt of the slider, was what people have when they pretty much think they have good thick yeast. Still does not shed much light on whether there is a bunch of trub / hop material in there, or if it has been rinsed.

Again, if you hold your cursor over the slider it says if there is visible non yeast matter it's closer to 25% and the best we are probably going to be able to get is 10% non yeast matter. That says to me that unwashed is close to 25% and washed is close to 10%, if you want a better explanation than that, email Jamil, I'm sure he'll be willing to shed some light.

I guess that makes decent sense. Thanks for the reply.
