but thats way 2 easy, and I would jack up my yeast when saving.. ah, I'm just gonna try it out and if i have to, I'll just make a hose extension and put the wort in through the top hatch..
on tap : High Bicarbonate Chicken soup flavored English Ale
In fermenter : most likely high bicarbonate chicken flavored ESB

Are you implying that you pump directly onto the entire yeast cake from the previous batch without sanitizing the fermenter? :shock:

no of course not.... but I would think the bottom valve would become unsanitary at some point.... I think I am over thinking it,, just need to use it for a while until i can trust it.

Just pump in the wort through the stopper hole in the top. That's what I do.

Just adding my 2-cents being that Hydraulics/Pneumatics/Plumbing is my life, but please do not think you are going to be able to disassemble and reassemble pipe (taper) port based fittings/valves repeatedly without failure. Brass is generally good for a finite amount of cycles, read; ~10. I think this is being over thought.
