It doesn't sound like it would be too good in a month...I feel like I need to try it and make sure its good, for everyone here. When can I come over and taste this Hoprunner?

Dude! Swing by right now and I'll give you a bottle. I'll send you a PM. I am < a mile from campus.

So I finally got a chance to sit down with a few fellow beer geeks and try this beer. I'll start with some tasting notes.

Aroma: Really nice cinnamon/spice/sugar cookie type aromas. Slight lactic nose

Appearance: slightly cloudy/ nice light pink color from the cherries

Flavor: Tart cherries/crisp/dry/low sourness/clean

Mouthfeel: Good carbonation/light on the pallet

overall: We all thought it was a really good beer. I could imagine drinking this on a hot summer day. Very drinkable and refreshing. As for the level of sourness I would say it was lacking but I was expecting more, so that could be my issue. I would say the beer was getting more of its tartness from the cherries rather than from the lacto, but i didn't get to taste it throughout the process, so I'm not sure.

Thanks hoprunner for allowing me to have some of the last bottles of this beer. I'm trying this method right now myself (sour brown not a kriek) and will give you a few bottles to try.

I can't wait to try it! Your review seems spot on. My goal wasn't to make a lacto bomb, I was only experimenting to see if I could get a reasonable level of sourness AND a nice clean beer in one month. So, for that as a goal I feel it succeeded.
I deliberately made a very plain beer. I wanted to be able to taste any flaws in the process. Now that we know it works we can tweak the recipe and the process.

Ya know, I mainly did this because sooooooo many people told me I COULDN'T do it this way. I didn't believe it so I designed this experiment to prove it one way or another.

Thanks again for the review! :jnj
