suck it dinty moore

Sun Sep 19, 2010 1:03 pm

My roommate was eating dinty moore beef stew and it looked good, and being its a crappy day outside, i decided to make some beef stew that would blow dinty moore out of the water. Lightly sauteed: Acorn squash, mushrooms, garlic, parnips, carrots, onion and set aside to cool, then tossed in flour. Seared stew meat in large pot, then deglazed with SN 30th Ann. Stout and a bottle of Eola Hills Reserve 2007 Lodi Sangiovese. added veggies back in and beef stock to cover, brought to a boil, added diced yukon golds and celery, reduced to simmer after thickening occured. simmer until potatoes are tender, finish with fresh rosemary, sage, thyme. suck it dinty.

Dinty Moore is great when you come home drunk and you're hungry. Sometimes you don't even need to heat it up.
