Hi everybody! I am a beer lover/ homebrewer. I have been brewing for 5 years. I got my start the same as everyone else, when my fiancée bought me an extract starter kit with a couple books (including "How to Brew"), and told me I was in charge of beer and firewood for our wedding. We had to brew our own because we come from Oregon, thus were spoiled, and couldn't find affordable craft kegs.
I brewed 2 five gallon batches of kit we named Ball and Chain amber ale, and it was all gone after the wedding. (we also had a half bbl each of stella and amber bock) It took me 4 years as a hobbyist brewing 3-4 batches per year to go all grain. When I did, I fell in love. I also found the brewing network.
1 year later I have done 3 brews per month, listened to roughly 1600 hours of brewing podcasts, read 6 new beer books, entered 1 competition (Commander Saaz), with 3 entries, and walked away with a silver in the Belgian/French Ale category for my saison.
I put my club as the BN...
