New guy from Sweden

Tue Feb 25, 2014 6:31 am

Hi

I started brewing in July 2013, but I did actually start learning about brewing a couple of months earlier, with BTV and “How to Brew”. Since August I’ve listened to every episode of every show, which probably counts as some kind of brain washing (well, I have not listened to Lunch Meet, mostly because I haven’t dared to). I’ve about 20 all grain batches under my belt, so far, the next one is planned for tomorrow.

I’m a chemical engineer, working in the pulp and paper industry, which has been a huge benefit, as making wort is quite similar to the process where you make paper pulp, except the resulting liquid is usually better to drink if you make beer.

I’m also taking an online course, “Chemistry of Beer”, from Oklahoma University, which I really recommend, as long as you have some prior chemical knowledge.

Yes, but it leaves you begging for more.
