Hello from Austin, TX

Mon Oct 14, 2013 4:49 am

My name is Ryan and I am hooked on homebrew... Just wanted to stop in and say hello. Have brewed 3 beers and all successful. Got started in June 2012 with a homebrew kit for a birthday gift.. Of course my coworkers still ask when I will brew with grains again, because we made some killer spent-grain bread. And then recently finished a Mr Beer kit of NW pale and a red brown.. Just purchased a mini mash for Imperial Pale to start next weekend. This will be my first 5gal mix. Very excited to get another batch going! Glad I have found this site and looking forward to all the helpful hints and stories. Thanks for having me...

Welcome Ryan. Any chance your local shop is Austin Homebrew Supply? I've ordered from them a couple times and they've been great.

Any plans to move up to All grain soon?

Good luck with your first 5 gallon batch!

Thanks for the welcome.. And yes AHS is my local store. Just picked up my new recipe this weekend from there, had some good luck with the ingredients and helpful hints from the store.
Plans and wishes to be all grain... Yes. First 1 gal batch last year was all grain. Second brew (s) were all extract and was actually 2-2gal batches.. This is my first 5gal batch.. Gotta show my better half the cost of good equipment makes a difference in the beer before I can continue to add to the brewstation.
Thanks again for the welcome!

Welcome, Ryan.

AHS had a great Pliny The Elder - Clone kit that went on sale for Buy-One-Get-One.
