Howdy

After reading a ton of stuff, watching vids, listening to podcasts, I'm finally ready. Tomorrow I brew my first batch of beer.

Brewing a Porter (hell yeah, favorite style of beer). Hopefully this is the start of a beautiful obsession.

I think things went well. From start to finish it took me around 4 hours, clean up afterwards wasn't as bad as I thought.
The recipe called for a starting gravity of 1.051 to 1.055, I was right at 1.051. Now I wait for those lovely yeasty bugger to turn that stuff into a passable Porter.
Spent grains look a bit like diarrhea.
