Hello from MN

Tue Aug 31, 2010 9:50 am

Hi! Started listening to BN a few months ago and wanted to join the conversation. I'm an extract/specialty brewer planning to go all grain in a few years when the second of my two toddlers starts school full-time. I'm partial to British ales but just got a copy of Brewing Classic Styles and plan to try some new things this winter.

Where are you at in MN? I'm from Tyler, MN, and like you I am fairly new to the brewing and the BN. I'm planning to get to all grain as soon as possible, but that's not soon enough!

I hear you. I'm looking to go full grain but, like I said, it's going to have to wait. With 2 toddlers and a wife who works nights/weekends, it's hard enough to find 3 hours to brew. 2 more hours to mash, lauter, etc. just isn't in the cards. Once they start going to school all day every day, on the other hand, I will be able to take the occasional vacation day and do it right. 8)

Not that extract/specialty grains are wrong...
