Hi from SoCal

Fri Aug 06, 2010 7:08 pm

Hey everyone,

Just thought I would say hello. I have been lurking on this forum while I am at work since it seems to be one of the few "beer" sites that aren't blocked! I live in Orange, CA and am just getting into brewing. I have a Northern English Ale in primary right now, plan on racking it to secondary next week and I also am experimenting with some variation of an Orange Mead recipe.

Anyhow, I am sure I will ask a stupid question sooner or later so if you are able to answer, you will at least know who you are talking to :)

I noticed that there are a few SoCal ppl on this board, very cool. Garden Grove is right around the corner...I am actually there quite a bit for work. SO, what are your favorite places local breweries? I haven't been going out much but I have been frequenting Oggi's (Orange Location) for a few years. Their Sweet Spot Hefe has been a favorite of mine.

I love oggis, there black magic stout is great. That is the only place I really go out for beer, otherwise it's Thai Nakorn. I work nights so I'm normally not up and about when these places are open. I end up getting my craft beer from a whole foods close by.
I guess Doc grew up somewhere around here too
