Greetings from the Yakima Valley

Sat Jun 17, 2006 9:03 pm

Hello all,

Just wanted to drop a note and say hi to everyone. I have been a brewer for about 3 years. I use mostly extract/partial mash at this point but hope to be going all grain in the next few months. I have been lurking here since the start of the show but have never introduced myself. I have learned a lot from the brewcasters and hope to learn more. I think they do a great service to the brewing community and hope they keep up the good work.

cheers!!

Welcome and enjoy. Are you originally from Yak? I grew up and went to school in Spokane and my brother currently lives in Chelan. Any chance you could harvest some hops and send fresh ones to the east coast?

I have a lot of friends that are hop farmers and are more than willing to pack me up some hops when they are harvesting.

In response to(Hugh Jasper) I really don't have the equipment to package them properly for shipment. I would hate to waste good hops .

I'm from a little town in the lower valley called Toppenish, about 20 miles south of Yakima. I was born and raised in the valley.

On a side note I enjoyed the show with Hop Union and Ralph Olson. Nice to see local people get recognized.

Beerme,

Welcome! The guys and gals here represent the best of the internet in terms of brewing knowledge (the "Pope" Jamil, NHC 2006 nationals multi-medalist, even drops by the forums every so often). I've learned a tremendous amount from people in this forum and I'm sure you will as well!
