thanks guys, I'm not sure i knew exactly what i was getting into going all grain on the first batch, and most people have said that i should have started out with some extract batches first, but i figured i wanted to learn the right way right away...so now i'm building a serious mash tun and trying to learn from the mistakes we made.

first question is...are there any other long islanders on here? we're going to be out at martha clara vineyard this weekend for the craft beer wine and bbq festival and wanted to see if anybody was going to be around?

Sadly I have to miss the festival. But I'm another newbie from Long Island. Nice to know there's others out here. :jnj

Welocme,
You should get some BN Gear from the store. This way youm will be easy to spot if there are any other soldiers around. If not, you will get some stares from the civillians. The Hop Grenade either freightens people or gets their curiosity.
Cheers.
