New User in Yuma

Fri Jul 20, 2012 1:02 pm

I'm new to the BN forum but I have been trying to catch up with the Session since I found it. I just finished the Christmas 08' show this morning. Luckily, my job gives me the opportunity to sit in a vehicle all day long. Pretty soon I'll be listening real-time.

I have been playing at being a home brewer since 1992. Although I brewed my first batch 20 years ago, my journal shows I only have a 12 batch portfolio. Pretty poor showing but that is all changing. I spent most of that time deploying as a Marine to places far and wide. Now I am retired and able to put some time into my Home brewery.

I recently converted a 24 cu ft freezer into a keg orator / cellar. I also converted a dorm fridge into a fermentation chamber. I am exited to have found the BN and I am inspired to enter into a few competitions this year.

If you are ever in the Yuma area, look me up. I'm always down for sharing a brew with friends.

Awesome! Sounds like you'll have fun diving into the hobby! Any questions, just ask... someone here has dealt with it before... or at least has an opinion.

Good stuff. One of my favorite parts of this hobby is the conversions of equipment. Coolers to mash tuns, ordinary fridges to amazing beer dispensing machines!
