What is the closest, brewery to Denver airport?

Hay there, I am skiing in Vale over the next few days, but will have some time to kill tomorrow at the airport and my flight laves at 930 Sunday night. So if I were to try to catch a local brewery what would you recommend?

As long as you have a few hours head to the New Belgium Brewery ABSOLUTELY! This is the place where Fat Tire was born! These guys researched a dead beer in really old books in Belgium and brought it back to life (1554)!! These guys taught Vinnie C. how to use Brett!! Okay, that last one may be a stretch, but he DID buy one of their retired barrels.

These guys rock, they are about 45 min north of the airport in Ft. Collins, go there or it will haunt you for the rest of your life. 'Nuff said, and I wish I were there too.

There are plenty of good breweries in Colorado, none of which are near the damn airport in the middle of nowhere. I would definitely say New Belgium would be great but it is more than an hour away from the airport. Downtown would be your best bet, there is the Breckenridge Brewery, Flying Dog, and Wynkoop.

Hey Tim. New Belgium is awesome but it is a long drive from the airport. I'd shoot for Great Divide in Denver or Avery Brewing in Boulder myself. Check out this map ...

You are driving right by the Dillon Dam Brewery. They make something called EPA (Extra Pale Ale). So good.

I think the closest brewery to DIA is in Wyoming.

On the drive from Vail you will be no further than 10 mins in either direction from a good brewery nearly your entire trip down I-70. Get the beer map out and find one. Downtown is where I would recommend and I would say skip the brewery and head to Falling Rock Tap House. They have a ridiculous amount of great beer on tap from all over. It is a half block from Coors field.

According to Google Maps it's about 72mi to Ft. Collins from DIA. Most of that is on I-25, and if you go UNDER 85mph on that road you could get killed. You can make it in under an hour easy.
There are definitely nice brewpubs and some breweries on the way to/from Vail too. I know where I'd go if I had a few hrs to kill...

Enjoy either way. I used to live in the area and I miss it tremendously.
