Thanks for the comments about the GABF beer. I can only take credit for the recipe and to a lesser extent the brewing. The beer wouldn't have been made without the good graces of the 21st Amendment Brewery and Shaun O'Sullivan. And I can't fail to mention my friend and mentor Jamil Zainasheff who made it all possible by letting me take his ProAm spot at the 21A. I'm very lucky to know these guys.

Tasty-
I seriously drank as much if not more of this beer at GABF than I did Lost Abbey and Russian River. Maybe because we knew a guy who was working the table, but none the less it is a great beer man

I'd love to brew this, but I've discovered brewing beers with Simcoe is a waste of time.

Just out of curiosity, why would you add double the flameout hops if using a hopback instead of the 0 minute addition.

I'm taking my training wheels off this weekend Tasty with your extract kit from B3.

I plan to quickly shift over to all-grain, but want to do some extract first to check out my setup and sanitation practices.

I've extract brewed with a friend at his place, but never at home by myself.

Fired up my camp chef burner last night.

I have a kettle, carboy and kegs standing by. Due to the heat here I have built a temp controlled kegerator and bought my wife a new refer for the laundry room so I could use the old refer for a fermentation chamber.

My PBW and Star San is here, I am putting the finishing touches on the keg and carboy cleaner.

Still waiting for my CO2 regulator that was ordered 2 months ago (B3's supplier has had problem getting parts), but he called today and said it was being shipped. I'm gonna roll the dice and hope it will be here when fermentation is completed.

I want to thank all of you at the BN for getting me up to speed - I wanted to homebrew for 10+ years now but could not get info, supplies, etc. to make the leap. I have the confidence now.

I want to thank you all in the BN that have put up with this newbie, libertarian, dead-head, in the middle of the pacific for the past year as I have studied the art of brewing through books and podcasts.

I've really enjoyed what Doc, JZ, Plise, JP and Tasty bring to the session - I've learned so much from your mistakes that I feel I am cheating before I even start. John Palmer's book has been key and it is great he is also now part of the BN team. And the biggest thanks to J for making it all possible.

I know I like the taste of good beer and am excited to take the next step to hope to create some of my own.

Thanks for all you share with us Tasty and I hope to meet you and the rest of the BN sometime soon down the road.

Mike, good on ya for sharing the recipe. I really enjoyed your APA at GABF. It was by far one of the best Pro/Am beers. Very clean and in a word, tasty! Cheers, brotha! :bnarmy:

Thanks for the recipe, Tasty. It was good to meet you at GABF. One question about the recipe. Warrior hops seem to be just about impossible to find right now. What would you recommend as a substitute? I'm thinking Nugget. Or should I just wait until I find Warrior?
