Dearest Networks,

Take a peek at the financial outlook for 2013 and see if you can scrape up $2 a recurring monthly donation. These BN folks are good people, and the free content that we have access to is priceless. If you can't swing it, no sweat, just try and pick up a shirt of sticker out of the store, or spread the good word of the BN to your homebrew peeps at all opportunity.

Hugs and Tickles,

Proud to be a new Corporal in the BN Army. The archived content is well worth the money each month. Any network that keeps my friends asking, "how the hell do you know all this stuff?" is well worth supporting. And my beer is much better for it. So skip that coffee twice a month and send in a few bucks people!

Hey, hey, hey, slow down. No need for irrational behavior. Skip the diapers, SWMBO's birthday gift or the surgery to remove that tumor first. Much safer.

I have provided moral, physical and monetary support for the BN even before recurring donations. When recurring donations started, I kicked in with $10 per month continuously for the last 5-6 years. I have more BN t-shirts, hats, hoodies, DVD's, glasses, etc. than I know what to do with. I have been an avid supporter almost since the beginning.

In about the last year or so, I have noticed that the BN has begun to increasingly ignore it's commitment to its listeners. First it was the introduction of off weeks. One per month was the stated decision and it grew from there - any excuse will do. Then it was the switch to the sort-of alternating Monday session. Justin has stated that the 5PM Pacific time on Sunday was carefully chosen to accommodate the most listeners. Now he is essentially saying, "Fuck that, I want more of my weekends off - screw the listeners". So sometimes the Session is Sunday, sometimes it's Monday, sometimes it's never. The listener has to try to figure that out himself without much help. For the last week the website was not updated from the previous week. The time for the Sunday session rolls around and there is still nothing up on the website indicating that there will be no Session for the week. The BN is jerking its listeners around and can't even bothered to let everyone know when there might be another session???

The Session message on the website is now, "The Brewcasters are committed to carrying the slacker torch, and will stay true to themselves by taking this Sunday off. The Session will return on March 10th with Magnolia Brewery founder Dave McLean, interviews with this year's AHA Governing Committee candidates, and much more. See you then!" I suppose it's supposed to be a cute message, unfortunately, I'm afraid it's just a non-humorous statement of fact.

I'm extremely happy that the BN has proven successful and that Justin has his self stated "dream job". I am, however, extremely disappointed that success has led to such an increasing lack of respect for the listener. I'm tired of being taken for a fool, I'm tired of being disrespected, I just cancelled my recurring donation.

First it was the introduction of off weeks

The Session has been doing off weeks for at least four years. Three shows per month. Nothing has changed.

So sometimes the Session is Sunday, sometimes it's Monday, sometimes it's never. The listener has to try to figure that out himself without much help.

Sometimes it's never? What does this mean? If it's more commentary about our off weeks, then yes, one week per month is an off week and there is no show. As for "figuring it out for yourself" - we announce what's on the schedule for next week at the end of every show. I also update the website, usually by Wednesday, to reflect what is coming up for that week.

For the last week the website was not updated from the previous week. The time for the Sunday session rolls around and there is still nothing up on the website indicating that there will be no Session for the week.

I fucked up and did not update the site last week, that is on me. My sincere apologies, it won't happen again. However, this is the first time in the nearly three years I've been in charge of the site that I've missed an update. Literally, the first time. The above quote paints the picture as if it happens every other week.

I suppose it's supposed to be a cute message, unfortunately, I'm afraid it's just a non-humorous statement of fact.

The slacker thing has always been the prevailing shtick, but now suddenly it is bothering you tremendously. Perhaps this says more about you than it does about the BN.

FilmLabRat, I know I speak for everyone at the BN when I say that we greatly appreciate all the support and goodwill you have shown us over the years. But I will speak only for myself when I say this: your post is full of exaggeration, resentment, and bitterness, and your comments reflect a changed attitude on your part, not ours.

Ouch! I was going to try to talk you down. The thing is FilmLabrat, I have been listening to the show for a couple years and have not donated to their crazy scheme. I have listened to the archive; the FREE iPhone app; FREE Justin.tv; free website and forum where I've stolen good info and even had the opportunity to meet a brewer like Adam Mills at a beer Fest.
So,rescinding your donation won't lose Justin his dream job, but the negativity just hurts the greater BN Army community and slackers like me who have been free-loading off you. Maybe you should just be pissed at the MAJORITY of us who haven't donated. Maybe if we did, J could hire all kinds of people to work around the clock on radio production, beer festivals, merchandising, website maintenance, and God knows what else it takes to keep going what they created out of a couple stoners and some beer.
I thank you, FilmLabRat, for your dedication to the Army, without people like you I would probably have missed out on the Session, Brew Strong, CYBI, and that other show. Oh, and Mix Tape.
I have enjoyed your calls, chats, and emails on the show, they demonstrated some of the fun a listener could have with a Internet radio show about beer.
I don't normally name my beer like other homebrewers; but when I do, I call it Effingbeer. Dude, you need to have an Effingbeer.
I tell you what, reconsider. Come to NHC 2014 and I will personally give you an Effingbeer.
In the meantime, I will probably sound like a dick if I don't send $2 a month. (I am an unemployed slacker, what did you expect?) And if you don't reconsider, I will donate another $10 in March in your name and you can enjoy that one on me. I owe you.
Call the show on March 10th and get an entry on the feelings calendar. We are all pissed when our favorite show is off air.
Also, SUCK IT Moscow for not updating the website. How the fuck else do we know we have anything to look forward to this weekend? We rearrange our live for this shit asshole.
