Chad's Helles Recipe.

Tue Apr 20, 2010 2:09 pm

Has Chad given up his "50 point Helles" recipe? I searched here and in All Grain and didn't see it. I'd like to make a few lagers in the next couple weeks and want to brew this beer.

We need the yeast starter, ferment and conditioning regime as well if he would be so kind to share.

I'd bet that you can get his recipe from a very good book called "Brewing Classic Styles" on pages 52 and 53...Just my guess

Are you sure he's using Jamil's recipe? I have the book and was planning on brewing that recipe if Chad didn't want to post his own.

Maybe I'm misremembering, but I thought he discussed it in the relevant Jamil show.

It's Plise's helles they discuss, not Chad's. (at least on the Jamil Show Munich Helles show)

Ah, okay. My bad.

To add something of substance to this thread, I have a keg of Jamil's recipe that's pretty darn tasty :)

I have no doubt that, just like the rest of the recipes in BCS, the Helles recipes is great. I just want to brew the beer that Jamil said was a 50 point beer!
