I'd like to know where I can get more detailed information on the origin of the various White Labs Strains. In particular I'm interested in:

WLP 820 - Octoberfest/Maerzen Lager
WLP 830 - German Lager
WLP 833 - German Bock
WLP 838 - Sountern German Lager

Which one of these is the German 34/70 strain?

Thanks,
Kai

Speaking of schmoos (the irregular shape the yeast take when they detect mating phermone from an opposite mating type, not the Lunchmeat definition), I'm wondering if Chris White sporulates or crosses any of the yeast strains in his collection in an effort to construct new brewing strains?

Awesome episode! I was impressed with all the yeast info and I GOT A T-SHIRT! Usually I can't listen live but I am really glad that I tuned to this one. The yeast washing, ferm temp and pitching rate info was right in line with what the current research supports.
