another vote for Cambridge brewing - they don't have a large variety on at any one time, but if they have a barleywine on their barleywines are always very good

and another for Sunset Grill as a beer bar, you'll get to try stuff from almost every new england brewery you can think of

John Harvards in Harvard Sq. is good, it's a chain out here
Rock Bottom is good
Beer Works will probably be crowded with a Red Sox crowd while you're here
On tap 1: Dry Irish
On tap 2: El Jefeweizen
On tap 3: Vienna
kegged: Rye Amber, Belgian Dark Strong, CYBI Mirror Pond, Irish Red, RIS
lagering: Vienna, Helles, Cream Ale, CAP

I missed the Woburn part

you're a good 20 minutes outside of Boston, which means you're about 30 minutes from Haverhill and I can't recommend The Tap highly enough

It's about a half hour North Eastish from you, but thats only 10 minutes more than going Southish to Boston

ed - checking the beer list and now I want to head up
Milk Chocolate Porter
5.8% abv, 36 ibu
We brew a Robust American Porter, then transfer the beer onto raw organic Cacao from Peru and Bourbon Vanilla Beans from Madagascar and wait until the flavor is just right. The result is a deliciously rich beer with chocolately goodness.

Unfortunately I fly in the 25th... now I want to change the flight. Something called the bacon and beer festival pretty much has to be awesome.

Good lookin beer list! I'll definitely hit them. I'll be staying at a seminar in downtown Boston and the hotel I'll be at is in Woburn... so both areas are good. Who cares if I have a long cab ride to the hotel after a few great beers. :jnj

Timely topic since I'll be going east to Boston for my first time in mid May. Staying at the Omni Parker House hotel on 60 School Street. Won't have a car. Any recommendations within walking distance?
