Yeah, HH. I would be more worried seeing Lufah rolling in his train with that thing on, yo.

Jayne: (wearing homemade hat) "How's it sit? Pretty cunning,
don'tchya think?"

Kaylee: "I think it's the sweetest hat ever."

Book: "Makes a statement."

Jayne: "Yeah, yeah!"

Wash: "A man walks down the street in that hat, people know he's not afraid of anything."

Jayne: "Damn straight."

Without question, the greatest invention in the history of mankind is beer. Oh, I grant you that the wheel was also a fine invention, but the wheel does not go nearly as well with pizza.

Firefly. Don't feel bad about missing it, pretty much everyone did. It was a REALLY great sci-fi show that the Fox network killed through its incompetence. They only filmed one season, and only aired half of that. Then, due to a groudswell of support from Firefly fans, and citing good DVD sales, they made a movie last year called Serenity. It was really great, but also didn't perform well in theaters.

I'll have to say the firefly series was one of the best new SF series since B5. I liked it so much I actually went out and *bought* (gasp) the DVD set instead of downloading all the episodes from bittorrent. Wanted to vote with my wallet, so to speak.

Seems like people just love killing off the good SF series through sheer incompetence. They jerked B5 around during the last two years of it's run and JMS just barely managed to keep it together with the network breathing down his neck. They killed off Space: Above and Beyond (which I thought was stellar) halfway through the first season without even giving it a chance and completely screwed over Firefly through sheer stupidity on the part of the network. Yet they'll run total crap like Voyager until you just want to puke (7 of 9 was the ONLY thing worth watching on that show... I'd pay good money to see her get naughty with Jadzia Dax from DS:9 heh).

Ok nerd rant over I guess.

Yeah, the SciFi channel picked it up after Fox cancelled it, and started airing it just before the movie released. Unfortunately, they weren't up for paying for new episodes.
