Re: Could use a little encouragement from the Army...

Update time. The chemo stopped working and my counts started to climb around the time I was to start treatment number 4. We went back to the original cocktail that I was allergic to in the hopes that it would respond like it did the first time. Turns out that it responds even better! My protein count went up to as high as 142, then after one treatment and 1 week of rest it dropped to 88! Things were a little touch-and-go for a while and I'm not gonna lie, I was a little scared. Started having some pretty negative thoughts, but now all is well. I'm back in the game and ready to beat this thing's ass again. Treatment number 3 starts on Tuesday. I'll find out the latest counts on Tuesday as well. Hopefully it is another dramatic ass kicking. Haven't brewed much lately. I'd like to whip up a brown porter this weekend. We'll see I guess. Keep up the good vibes BNers. You guys have really helped by being there for me and helping support me through all this.

Not to threadjack, but you REALLY need to check out the Random Motivational Poster thread if you haven't already done so.

Back to props for Husker

I hope your treatment is working for you. I am glad to hear you are doing better. My mom is battling stage 4 breast cancer right now so both of you are in my thought.

Stay strong and thinkg about cancer like a bad break-up:

You get one day to cry.
You get one day to get shitty drunk and make an ass out of yourself.
Any day over that is a step toward a new beginning, leaving the shit past just where it should be, in the past.

Take care of yourself.
