DANG IT OREGON

Thu Aug 14, 2014 3:10 pm

I'm a bit behind, i'm just now finding out that oregon banned caffeinated alcohol drinks 6 years ago.

I'm going to a camping trip where we do a white elephant beer exchange. The rules are it has to be under $10, and be a malt beverage. Beverages are to be drunk the night of the exchange. Historically the exchange has been about 80% craft beer, 20% Forties. I'm kicking myself for not planning ahead and having a out of state friend mail me some Four Loko or other premium caffeinated beverage.

I think that was a federal ruling.

I think WA & OR did it first, the federal law came a bit later... maybe 3 or 4 years ago?

Steel Reserve is always an old trusty.

Recipe for the worst malt beverage: Buy any kind of 40 in a clear bottle, from the nicest neighborhood mini mart you can find. That shit will be sitting on the shelf for months in the light. Then leave in your car in the heat and in full sun for at a week give or take if you have the time. I will be one of the worst things you have ever tasted. :D

:jnj -PorkSlopper
Bottled: fresh hop pale ale
On tap: Moose bile strong ale
In the cellar: Taqu'il's Fat Black Imperial Stout
Lagering:
In the fermenter: Moose drool clone
In the works: Taqu'il's Fat Black Imperial stout
