Fellow Washington beer drinkers, help your local breweries!

Gov. Inslee here in Washington state has plans of not only continuing a 50 cent per gallon increase tax on beer (which was set to expire June 30th) he is extending this tax from breweries making over 600,000 barrels to every Washington brewery.

This is a great way to kill one of the only growing industries here in Washington, contact him, as well as your representatives to make sure this proposed tax is shot down.

They tried that in New Hampshire at the beginning of this year, asking for a $.10 per gallon raise. The public uproar was enough to get the Governor to come out and say she would veto this bill if it hit her desk. The house killed this bill 308-35.

The guy who co-sponsored the bill last name is Weed.

http://www.washingtonbeerblog.com/elysian-brewing-speaks-out-about-beer-tax/

Dick the headbrewer at Elysian speaks out. Saying any new tax is to much, in a state where the beer tax is one of the highest in the country.

Gov. Inslee has rediculous plans but state legislators have proposed a smaller increase of 10 cents, but a lower of taxation on big brewers in the state.

I totally fucked up that announcement that Brewcaster J said yesterday. There is a protest at the Capital building at 12pm on Friday. I guess that there was also one yesterday, when I did a quick search that is the one I found. :asshat:
