Hey brew brothas and sistahs!

I just got back from my yearly family trip to the great state of Wisconsin (family reunion... not for the sights).

Good times were had and I had many a craft brew from America's Dairyland!

I even went over to Titletown Brewpub and got a tour from the brewmaster! BTW, Eric Watson of TBN interviewee fame quit about 2 weeks ago... so I didn't get to meet him, but everyone else seemed to know about The Brewing Network as I had a few pints with some of the locals!

I had intended to go to Hinterland Brewpub and Legends Brewpub that same day... but I ended up staying and enjoying their scottish ale on cask all night!

I am at work now, but I will post a few pictures when I get home!

ah....the great state of 'sconny! I used to live there until recenly moving to Oregon. Did you get a chance to taste any New Glarus, or my personal favorite Leinie's? I grew up less than 10 miles from Leinie's. Their Creamy Dark is the shit

Of course I had to get my hands on some New Glarus. I have to say I wasn't too impressed by their Spotted Cow. I did enjoy some Leine's as well, and share your sentiment on the Creamy Dark Lager... it was quite a delight!

I also had some Tyranena, of Wisconsin fame. I enjoyed their Porter, but found the IPA a bit harsh. Their Burbon barrel aged brown ale was a bit on the strong side (tasted like straight up burbon) and I didn't care much for it either.

Cut us some slack! Wisconsin is an okay place, with good brewpubs and breweries. Titletown is good; however, the last time I was there they had all ales, not one lager. I preferred when Todd Ashman was the brewmaster. He made some great big beers. Capital Brewing makes some great beers also. Their Autumnal Fire kicks butt! I m not a fan of leinies.

Hey I'm heading up thru Greenbay tomorrow and is that where Titletown brewing is?

I'm going from Northern Illinois, doing the Lambeau field tour then heading to a cabin up north, I'm a Bears fan but the tour should be fun.

Anyways whats a good Brewpub in Greenbay?

Titletown is great but they may be running low on beer. They are in transition between brewers and when I was there they had 3 dry taps.

I haven't been to the Hinterland Brewpub, but apparently it has good beer, but I was told the food is EXPENSIVE.

There is another one down there... but I forget the name. Titletown is a pretty safe bet. It is on Dousman Street. There is a statue of a packer player catching a football right by the road, and the place is right by the railroad tracks. They may still have some of their Scottish Ale on cask! (TASTY!)

You guys have missed out my favourite brewery...Lakefront Brewery in Milwaukee. They brew some great German lagers...East Side Dark, mmmaking me drool right now. They are way cool as well - a must brewery visit. I think my first ever brewery tour was theirs back in the early '90's. One of the few breweries that started the tour with a beverage - as you should.

If you have the DVD American Beer - check the deleted scenes for a tour of their brewery and a slide down Bernie Brewer's slide!

Sprecher in Milwaukee makes a fine drop as well, but I always go for the Lakefront when I'm home...
