yeah it also depends on how much better beer is available. if it has been a while since the last brew and "times is tight", any beer is better than no beer.

My first AG batch put me in this situation. I did end up using it to cook with since is was an English brown. You have to be careful using a bitter beer to cook with because the bitterness is compounded, especially when doing a reduction, like for sauces and such. I have also done well with blending my beers. Once I blended a couple of my average belgians and together the made a great beer, much better that either was alone. Good luck.

I dump it. There is too much good beer out there to be drinking bad beer.

I have definitely been known to dump batches of beer if I was not satisfied with the final product. Why hold on to something that I simply would NOT drink? It is only taking up keg and fridge space at that point....

If it's just over hopped, give it a few months for the hops to drop out. One of my best early beers (back in like '92) was made from 2 cans of Coopers hopped malt extract. It tasted awful (no double IPAs back then  ) and I put it away for a while. Found it 8 or 10 months later and it was wonderful!
