Ok so if I am following y'all I will make a sweet stout using lactose during the boil and a fuck ton of strawberries. Sounds easy.

I will be bottling it on Friday, I brewed it on the 22nd and it calls for two weeks in the fermenter and two weeks of conditioning in the bottles so I will know in about two weeks how it turned out. I will definitely let yall know how it turns out.

Taste your hydrometer sample when you take you FG reading and let us know how it tastes pre carb, and when did you add the berries? I did a strawberry pale ale early on before I controlled ferm temps. Esthers were pretty high but I liked the beer. I added a couple pounds frozen to the cooling wort for 1/2 hr, then removed them. A little in the nose and subtle strawberry flavor. Mild side of Pete's strawberry blonde ale. +1 to Bug's comments though.

Well I tasted the normal stout I bottled on Friday and it was pretty sweet for a stout but still tasted great. As for the strawberry stout idea, I am still trying to get an idea about how many pounds of strawberries to add and when to add them.
