1.040 + 1.5lb DME got you to 1.060? Are you working with a 5 gal batch? And did you stir again?

Although if the first time was a misread, then adding 1.5# DME to a 1048 beer would put it around 1060...

I checked the gravity today and it is at 1.013. I am still getting VERY regular activity in the airlock, a bubble about every 15-20 seconds. Would it be a good idea to crash this and start letting it clarify or would I be better off letting it continue at 60F for 2 or 3 more weeks to condition. I know this yeast will take a while to settle out, but is there any reason not to crash it once it's done fermenting? (BTW I am aware that it isn't finished yet)

Let it go, it'll give the yeast a chance to finish out and clean up after themselves.

Would you start bringing it up a degree or two at a time or leave it at 60F for a couple more weeks to condition?
