My Driveway Will Never Forgive Me

Sun Apr 18, 2010 8:19 pm

I brewed up an Imperial Stout today and my driveway will never forgive me.

At the end of the boil I added 2 ounces of hops after burn out. Well, I just tossed them in like I was boss, prolly because I had 4 or 5 beers, plus a hot toddy in me. Anyway, it spit them back at me... Follow the link to see my frowning driveway...

Homebrewing Northern Brewer Imperial Stout

Regardless, I missed my OG by about .01, but fermentation has stared and its only been about 3 hours.

Lesson Learned!

I wonder if your neighbors are wondering what you slaughtered in your garage.

Be thankful you were doing this in the garage and not in the kitchen on the stovetop.

They are screwing around with my driveway today too.

I just finished up running 3/4 copper cold and hot water lines from my house to my brewshed two weeks ago and this week the water department is beginning to upgrade my street's water main.

They are in the process of replacing the existing 60 year old 2" pipe that brings water to my home with a brand new 24" water main.

Is this the brewing gods at work?

LOL.

Thanks guys.

A new brew pot is on my list. Maybe next time I should talk dirty to it and slap it if it spits at me...
