First dodgeball, now TAG???

Thu Oct 26, 2006 1:58 pm

Apparently schools around the country are now banning the game tag. TAG!!!

"It creates self esteem issues among weaker and slower children... Self-esteem should not be imbedded in whether you win or lose a game."

Dear god, I can barely stand for the blatant wuss-ification of America! First dodgeball, now TAG? Just like all those sports leauges that don't keep scores... why. Winning and losing is a part of life.

AAAARG!

I need a beer...

Just another example of the government taking shit away that doesn't really mean anything. Can anyone say vegemite? This way, we are used to it when they try to ban the things that actually matter.

Oh yeah, and lets put up a big fucking fence to keep all the mexicans out while were at it.

I have a real issue with the whole "losing isn't helping their self esteem". These are the kids that will one day pull some shit crime and blame it on the fact that they aren't able to handle the dissappointment of not having a really great paying job. Does anyone remember the phrase "it builds character"? There is something to be said for learning how to lose. I have become quite a pro at it myself. :?
Another thing. If you aren't good at a game like dodgeball or tag.....DON"T PLAY OR PRACTICE!!! Don't bithch that it hurts your feelings to lose. This is a lesson that I had to learn and so did a lot of other grown ass adults.
These quilt hugging, baby coddling, "don't hurt my 17yo's feelings", let's pad the whole world so no one has to know what a boo boo feels like pansy bitches are ruining childhood. let the kids get a bump or bruise. They'll learn that things aren't always perfect.  :x I hate this over abundance of save the children shit!!
LIFE HAS BAD SHIT IN IT!! GET USED TO IT!!. :x :x :x

WTF you got against quilts? What did they beat you in dodge ball or something. My wife has made me several quilts and I have to say that I am very fond of them. They are soft and warm and have never tried to kill me or raid my coke stash. Thats a lot more than I can say of some things.

Without question, the greatest invention in the history of mankind is beer. Oh, I grant you that the wheel was also a fine invention, but the wheel does not go nearly as well with pizza.

the amazing thing about all this crap is;do these parents actually think that by not keeping score, thier kids don't know that they just got thier ass kicked? we had the mercy rule in baseball, up by 12, after 4 innings, game over. we beat a team 49-7 once and they called the game in the 4th inning. those kids were not only mad they lost, now they're embarassed and they miss out at taking a few more swings. it's a load of crap. there are winners and losers, period. now can i have a gold medal at nhc to make me feel better about my beer? i tried therefore i'm a winner right? bullshit!bullshit!bullshit! not that i have a strong opinion about this subject.....

After all, look at how the steelers are playing this year and you have not hung yourself yet. There must be something in getting used to loosing.

I actually like this concept because in about twenty years were are going to have a generation of lazy bastards in this country who beleive in instant gratification without hard work and don't like it when their feelings get hurt.

With enough people like that running around, I will be able to own all of their asses in a heartbeat.
