This is idiotic. Clearly the NHC is afraid of change. They essentially reorganized the styles in the new BJCP guidelines into the old categories.

Interesting. We shall see how it goes. Some of those categories are pretty broad. I do like how they separated out the big ones though (i.e. Big stouts, American IPA) from the others. Always tough for a dry stout to compete against a bold RIS.

I think the AHA guidelines are exactly what was needed. Where the BJCP failed, AHA has succeeded. Very nice.
