Summit 90/- Scottish Ale

I usually skip over the Summit beers for Surly, Founders, Bells etc. But a local shop had this on sale.

This is the first beer I've had that used Heather for bittering. I have to say that I was very pleased with this one. Although I have to admit that I have no idea what a heather ale should taste like. I don't drink a lot of Scottish Heavies like this. Another one I liked was the Kilt Lifter at Moylan's. This one is smoother for sure, the roasted barley was there and nicely balanced.

If you are like me and skip over the Summits, don't miss this one.

If anyone has brewed with Heather please sound off.
