I had the other night Unibroues Chambly Noire. I believe this is a sour beer, and I thought it was excellant. I would love to try some more. Any recommendations?

Rodenbach, Rodenbach Grand Cru, Liefmans Goudenband, and of Russian River's Sours,

also - Jolly Pumpkin, Zoetzuur's, Cantillion...

To the best of my knowledge, Chambly Noire is not a sour beer. At least, I've never read that and it wasn't when I tried it (I thought it was really bland). The description reads: "Chambly Noire is a smooth and creamy dark beer with a beige and persistent head. Its torrefaction aromas and slight bitterness enable it to perfectly accompany various fish dishes, strong cheeses and chocolate desserts." At least that's what ratebeer says. It is listed as a Belgian Ale, not a sour. Believe me, I wish Unibroue made a sour. They sell all over here.

For sour beers, don't forget any of the sour Lost Abbeys (Cuvee de Tomme, Sinner's Blends, Veritas, Isabelle Proximus, etc.) if you ever have the chance to get your hands on some. Those ones are difficult.

Also, Boon makes great sours, Hanssens's Oudbeitje is good, and Jolly Pumpkins are some of my favorites (I know they were previously mentioned, but they're good enough to mention again). The Lindeman's Cuvee Rene is good also, mostly because you can pick it up at any Safeway (supermarket) here in Arizona. It isn't stupendous by any measure, but I appreciate the ease of access at a semi-reasonable price to a Gueze.

If you're back east, the Captain Lawrence Cuvee de Castleton is a sour I believe.

Thanks for all the recommendations. I'm not sure if the Chambly Noire is a sour either. But my tongue picked up some sourness. This style has been something that I have been wanting to try, but have never know what to start with. I'm in Cleveland, so I doubt that I would be able to get any of the Russian Rivers.

My experience with this style is pretty limited too, but I had an Ommegang Grand Cru and enjoyed it alot.
