Will this recipe work?

Alright so this is my first partial mash that I'll be doing. I don't know anything as to what kind of efficiency that I will get. I have a very cheap setup and will do just a normal partial mash and for my sparging I will just be running water over the grains which will be in a colander.

Also, this is the first time I've came up with my "own" recipe instead of a kit. So I'm wondering if this is LEGIT or anything that I should tweak?

Lemme know!!!

Holy Crap! That's alot of IBU's for a 1.029 beer. Pythoner is right. The recipe looks fine if you want a very bitter beer. What style are you trying to brew? I would suggest bumping up the gravity to a 1.040 to try to balance the bitterness. But, thats the great thing about brewing. Do what you want. Then adjust from there. Good luck.

Cheer.

His efficiency is set to 0% which is why the OG says 1.029. With 70% efficiency the OG will be more like 1.047.

Looks like a fine recipe to me.

You would be correct! So not knowing my efficiency, what do you recommend me to enter into mine...or...how do I go about finding my efficiency?

I didn't even see that the efficiency was 0. Lol. You might want to assume 65-70%. Its a good base line. To calculate correctly you must be able to measure correctly the amount of wort collected from the partial mash. Then calculate from there.

Ummm yupp! lol...I think I'll save figuring out my efficiency for a little while. Especially since every batch I'm figuring out little ways to improve it so it's not exactly a base line.

Here's one last question...I obviously will mash my 2 row, but my crystal and honey malt. Do I still mash? Or do I steep like specialty grains?
