I was just drinking a new belgium biere de mars followed by a new belgium tripel and began thinking about how much I like New Belgium beers. These two are my favorite. Anyone else have any New Belgium favorites?

I agree with you but, I have to say it's the Beire De Mars-- with the BRETT!!! yummy

but 1554 rules... I need to try to brew this beer.

and the abbey... and the tripel.. I could do with out the Blue Paddle.

I lived in CO for a year and I LOVE 1554!!! Fat Tire is awesome... but ohhhhhh 1554... I miss you so!

I have been working on this recipe for several months now. Last time I brewed it the supplier of my grain "accidentally" substituted Chocolate Malt for Debittered Black... I call it ASS BEER, cause it looks like da runs

Anyway Ionia, if you are interested I have some info from one of the the resident brewers on this recipe. My recipe itself probably needs tweaking, but the info is still good. Maybe we can come up witha winner?

I do love a good Fat Tire, but the best is straight from the brewery, even in Colorado you'll have trouble getting it fresh unless you drive up to the Fort. The 1554 and the 2 degrees below are great too.

I hope to hit the brewery in a couple months.

I really liked Devil's Advocate, but I don't think they will brew it again.

I like the Trippel and the Abbey is fine. My wife drinks the Blue Paddle, which is not bad even though it is a little thin on body for my tastes. My favorite was the single ale they did called porch swing. I believe that they have pulled that beer now. The La Follie is good, but not worth 17.00 per bottle IMHO.

The Devils Advocate was pretty damn good. I was up at last years GABF and was fortunate to sample and hear the story of how this beer was brewed at the brewery. Basically thier computor that measures out the grain and sends the grain to the mill via conveyer fucked up and just kept dumping grain into the mash tun and before the brewer that day had noticed and shut the conveyer down they had milled twice the normal amount of grain they would normally use for Fat Tire. So, they called Peter and he said just brew the damn thing and they did. The beer was like Fat Tire on steroids with more body and esters. It was very nice. I bet it would make a killer winter warmer beer.
