Did anyone ever try to coax a recipe for Jim's Honey Pale out of him? It seemed to be a hit on the show and I might like to give it a try.

I boosted his recipe off of the B3 forum:
Jim Rossi's Honey Pale Ale
7lbs 2-row
8oz Honey Malt
3lbs B3 Honey (added in final 15min)
0.5oz Cascade (60min)
0.5oz Cascade (1min)
WLP002 English Ale

				Gucci,
I believe I drank this beer made from the extract recipe about a year ago. That beer made by a good friend living in Indianpolis remains one of the best extract beers I have ever tasted. It certainly beat out all of my extract beers hands down. Despite that I have never brewed this recipe up my self. Maybe I will have to give it a go.

Fair enough. Here's the extract version also lifted off of the B3 forum:

3 lbs B3 Honey Add the honey 45 min into the boil for the max honey flavor
.5 lbs Honey Malt
.5 oz Cascade 60 min
.5 oz Cascade 1 min
Whirlfloc 20 min
4 oz Corn Sugar at Bottling
WLP002

				Duuuuhhh!!!
What should the SG be? I started it tonight and after boiling for 1 hour the volume has dropped to 4+ gallons from the starting 6 gallons. The SG at 74 deg F was 1.070....I thought it should be lower ( OK, I wanted more beer too) so I added some water. At 72 deg.F the SG = 1.056.
Am I at least in the same zip code with the correct SG? If the SG is too low, should I add more honey or candy sugar?
Thanks,
Brewbear
PS Yes, Dr Scott, I heard you, I shouldn't have gotten greedy, but since I didn't know the SG.....
