Using Mosaic Hops feels like cheating

Seriously. I've been going back and reliving some recipes, but switching out late hop additions and dry hops with mosaics from the 2015 harvest. They make everything taste amazing. Evil Twin? Janet's Brown? Union Jack? Throw in some mosaics and taste the freakin rainbow!!!
The only drawback is shelf life. Mosaics are particularly delicate and start tasting like simcoe after a couple months.

Have you guys had the same experience? Maybe with a different ingredient?

+1. My last and favorite IPA was finished and dry hopped with a blend of Galaxy, Amarillo, and Cascade. Fantastic!

I have an APA in primary using Cascade, Mandarina Bavaria, and Amarillo.
We'll see how it turns out.

I made a Galaxy APA.

10.5 gal final volume
Enough Galaxy at 60 minutes to hit 40 IBU after all additions
1 oz at 20
1 oz at 15
1 oz at 10
1 oz at 5
1 oz at 0
OG 1.054
FG 1.008

And it totally failed to impress me! This was Galaxy hops from a 44 lb bulk pack delivered fresh to the brewery. I dunno. Maybe the flavor/aroma is too subtle for me (or the shipment got baked in transport).

That's odd. At those hopping rates you should have been pretty awash with the Galactic nose! Were they pellets or leaf? How were they packaged? I have noticed that sometimes using a single hop does not bode as well as mixing in some other hop character to add some complexity.

I did some pale ale with galaxy a little while ago and I was pretty underwhelmed by the galaxy character I got from it. More over, the hop intensity just wasn't very high. The recipe was something that I have made a few times, but only the first two times I did it were really awesome. I'm curious if the galaxy crops lately haven't had quite the punch that they did in say 2013.

That was a single hop beer, and I did also find that adding a bit of cascade/centennial (ok, I doctored it with maybe 5% sierra nevada torpedo) character after seemed to add more than the sum of those parts.
