Flaked Rice vs Rice Syrup Solids

I brew a nice Pale Ale using Rice Syrup Solids. I have since converted the recipe to an IPA, and going over my inventory before brewday I find that I have Rice Syrup Solids too. I went into BeerAlchemy and changed the recipe from using 35% Rice Syrup Solids to 35% Flaked Rice, but my ABV dropped from 7.4% to 5%.

Is this right? Do I have to add a crap-ton more Flaked Rice to achieve the same as a little bit of Rice Syrup Solids?

I'm assuming you meant to say you noticed you had a bunch of flakes on brewday? Yes, I'd imagine using flaked vs RSS you will have to use more... just like a pound of DME gets you farther than a pound of 2-row, although with possibly less lost to hull weight, etc.

Just compare the PPPG potential for each & you'll get a pretty good idea.
