Wood Question....

I made an Old Ale a few months back and I would like to add some oak flavor. I have 4 oz of light toast and dark toast oak chips to choose from but I don't know how much to use. I added some of each to half pint samples a few hours ago and the dark toast is already adding some vanilla aromas to the beer.

Does increase dose decrease the contact time needed? Thanks, any help is great.

You bet. I listened to this a couple weeks ago. I think it's going to answer most of your questions.
