Local MA malt house, Malt of the Month Club!

Just thought some Massachusetts homebrewers might be interested in a new malt house called Valley Malt opening up in Hadley MA. They are doing a CSA type of deal called the Malt of the Month Club. Here's the deal:

For $200, you get:
- 100lbs of base malt (delivered in two 50lbs installments)
- 6 installments of 5lbs of specialty malt (one 5lb installment every two months)
- and a few other small perks

I've already signed up and all correspondence has been extremely friendly. They are already collaborating with local homebrew shops (Homebrew Emporium is already signed up) and CSAs as locations to pick up your share. They've also offered (at least to me) to mill the grain if you don't own a mill of your own. If you have a suggestion for a pickup location, send them an email; they've been extremely quick to respond!

Cheers!

Lars,

Thanks for the info. I'll definitely have to check them out! Unfortunately, I'm over in southeast MA, so it's quite a trek. But maybe I'll have to figure something out.

Cody,

I live in Boston and the place is about 2 hours from me, so I'm definitely not planning on driving to the place to pick it up. They seem like they are trying really hard to work with other places (LHBS, CSAs) to serve as distribution centers. If you have a local homebrew shop, or other location you think might work with Valley Malt to hold a share for pickup, send them an email. Like I said, Vally Malt seems to be working hard to make it easier for people to pick up their shares.

All times are UTC - 8 hours
