CO2 blanket question..

Hey guys and gals.. I was wondering what is the proper way to get a CO2 blanket into your keg when transferring. I just got a kegging system and I transfered my beer from the bottom up while turning on the CO2 every couple of seconds to get CO2 into the vessel...
I noticed of course alot came out (maybe due to my regulator pressure set to high). I think I did it right, but , I'm sure some BN'er has a better way of doing it!
Cheers!

I fill my kegs with sanitizer, then push the sanitizer out with CO2 and leave the keg under pressure for storage. That way when I pull one off the pile, I know that if it has pressure, it is sanitary, oxygen free, and ready to go.
It burns through some extra CO2, but the convenience is worth it to me.

I do the same. I always keep a keg full of Starsan under a couple pounds pressure. This way I always have it on tap for sanitizing chores around the brewery. Whenever I clean another keg, I just push the sanitizer into that keg and it becomes my sanitizer dispensing keg until time for another.

Sounds like I need another keg!!! I like the process. Until then I think that what I'm doing is ok, I just need use a lower pressure to set up my blanket.
