Cleaning off Goose Island Bottles

Tue Jun 28, 2016 5:10 pm

This is just to share in case anyone else wants to reuse one of those bottles.

I have some Goose Island bottles that I grabbed from a party I was at last weekend. I'm going to put some beer in them to hand out to coworkers and for some reason feel compelled to take the labels of and make them not look super shitty. I found that they are using a plastic label that doesn't just fall off after soaking in water for a bit like the paper ones do. That said, you can peal them off fairly easily once you get the edge up.

Nothing special there, but there is always the glue problem. The glue they use on these things is generally quite resilient. I did find however that a Mr Clean Magic Eraser takes it right off with a touch of warm water. Way better than a scrubby. I haven't tried a Magic Eraser on regular paper label glue, but I will in the future.

I figure 1 crushed up Viagra in each bottle should work make it sufficiently entertaining....

Good info, especially the part about "dry viagra-ing" your bottles. :nutters:

I'm confused here. Is the Viagra for your co-workers?

Yeah, it is the surprise...

(ok, I'm probably not going to really do that but I thought it would be pretty funny to do to someone)

Shit. I had a friend in college that used to snort them prior to going out on the town. Man, was he ever weird.
