Ventmatic/Shirron Faucets - Have they gone extinct?

Fri Jul 18, 2008 6:28 am

I started looking for some smaller tips for my Ventmatic faucets when I noticed that no one had any. Further checking showed that no one seems to have the faucets at all. Shirron has apparently stopped production due to some legal problems and supposedly production has gone back to Ventmatic.

Does anyone have any more info on that? I would like to keep all my faucets the same when I upgrade my kegerator this fall. I need to figure out if I need to start looking at buying Perlicks.

They are no longer being produced due to patent issues. Austin homebrew had some. I hacked up a lung to get enough to finish my kegorator, now to get the shanks, etc...

barls, it might even be cheaper for you to order from there and ship them than the other place.

Brant,

This place is great for those of us in Hawaii and Alaska. And those overseas with APO? and the other one (FPO?).

Most places only use FEDEX or UPS and there is no ground option for Hawaii - you have to pay through the nose. OK for yeast, but you can save big shipping $ by going on the boat if you are prepared to wait.

These guys ship via the post office for us (a hassle for them I bet) and the shipping is very reasonable!

I wish More Beer and Northern Brewer would consider this option as well.

Thanks

correction - More Beer does offer USPostal Priority Mail. Not as cheap as ground mail, but still a little bit better than FED-EX / UPS Blue
