I own 4 tanks (2 20's, a 10, and a 5) and generally get them refilled. When they get within a year of the certification running out, I take them to an exchange place and end up with one with a fresher date. I had a really cruddy looking 5# tank for a while, but I traded that one in so I could get a nicer looking one. Ended up with a new looking freshly painted one.

I get mine refilled at the local welding supply house. Best price around.

I use a local fire extinguisher shop $2.00 a pound. I acquired an aluminum scuba tank with a current 3000 psi hydo, I'm going to take it to the shop and see if they will convert it for me.

Finding a place to fill them is tough, but if you buy a shinny brand new tank it kinda sucks to have to hand it over for a piece of crap that's filled. I found in Idaho Norco fills them.

Anyone know of a cheap place to fill a 20 lb in StL. I think Airgas will do an exchange for about $22. Is that a good price?
